About Argos

Argos IconArgos is a fully customisable telecommunication protocol analyzer software for Windows platforms. It uses a proprietary XML protocol description language to define the protocol structure, the data input source and format, the analysis, presentation and post processing.
All the definitions are open to the user, and they can be updated at any time and applied immediately.
It can analyze any number of protocols, independent or stacked, at the same time.

Features

Argos FeaturesArgos is a feature rich protocol analyzer software. They are applied to all analyzed protocols. The XML protocol definition language also allows the customization of these feature for different protocols. The highly efficient and fine tuned user interface offers the most important protocol information at its front-end, with all the commands and the most detailed analysis a few clicks away.

Protocols

Argos ProtocolsArgos supports a set of protocols from TETRA open standard, like the Tetra Air Interface, with Tetra TEDS, the Tetra ISI (Inter System Interface), the Tetra SS (Supplementary Services), Tetra LIP (Location Information Protocol), UDH (User data Header) and more. Also a number of ISDN, PPP and IP protocols are supported.
All the protocol definitions are in open XML format, the users can easily update, extend, integrate with other open standard or proprietary protocols.

Interfaces

Argos InterfacesArgos provides a variety of input and output interfaces for protocol data input, device command output and protocol data raw/processed output. Each protocol can have multiple input sources and output destinations. Multiple protocols can perform at the same time doing offline or real-time analysis, independently of each other. User specific text or binary input and output formats can be defined using the XML protocol description language.

The User Interface

Argos User interfaceArgos offers a content and feature rich, fast and easy to use user interface. Most of the commands are available from toolbar buttons, drop-down menus and pop-up windows, a few clicks away, with a minimal use of dialog boxes. The auto-hide explorer and utility windows ensures maximum available area to be used for the protocol data view.
Each protocol can have several views defined by the user, which suits the best the protocol specifics or the type of information the user is interested in.
The multi-document interface allows opening of various offline or real-time protocol data windows, text and hex editors, message diagrams and an enhanced XML editor for the XML protocol description development.

More Argos Features

Argos More FeaturesArgos offers even more features which makes it one of the key development, testing and support tool for your team.
The auto-hide acquisition and definition browsers helps you manage your logfiles and protocol definitions.
PDU filtering and filter reporting makes long time acquisition browsing much easier.
Protocol versioning allows using various version of the same protocol for the analysis. PDUs reassembling enables fragmented PDUs to be decoded as complete messages.
You can use PDU bookmarking and bookmark export/importing to describe and share your analysis. Command forms and terminal windows allows you to monitor and control your input/output devices.

Argos for Tetra Air Interface Analysis

Tetra Air Interface AnalysisArgos Tetra analyzer supports the analysis of latest Tetra Air Interface protocols as defined in the ETSI 300 392-xx standards. It decodes the MAC, LLC and the Layer 3 CMCE, MLE, MM, and SNDCP messages. It also analyses various SDS payload protocols like various text messaging formats, LIP, UDH, RUA.It supports both Tetra 1 and Tetra 2 (TEDS) PDU decoding.
Fragmented LLC and SNDCP packet data PDUs are reassembled and they are decoded as a complete message.
The presentation with multiple views and each PDU's most relevant parameters shown offers the most comprehensive and easy to understand snapshot of the Tetra Air Interface messages.
The customizable interfacing, analysis, post processing and presentation allows easy integration into proprietary environments.
The unique features of the protocol analyzer makes it the essential tool for Tetra application development, testing and troubleshooting.

Argos for Tetra ISI and SS Analysis

Tetra ISI AnalysisArgos supports the analysis of latest Tetra ISI (Inter System Inetrface) protocols as defined in the ETSI 300 392-3-x standards,
The analyzer decodes the Individual Call (IC), Group Call (GC), Short Data Service (SDS) and Mobility Management (MM) ISI protocols. The ISI is decoded from the LAPD/QSIG/ROSE payload or from pure ISI PDUs generated by the ISI and QSIG PDU generators.
The analyzer also supports the Tetra SS (Supplementary Services) protocols as defined in the ETSI 300 392-12-xstandards. It decodes the Dynamic Group Number Assignment (DGNA), Talking Party Identification (TPI), Call Waiting (CW), Ambience Listening (AL) and other SS protocols. The SS is decoded from Tetra Air Interface PDUs or pure SS PDUs generated by the SS PDU generator.

XML Protocol Definitions

Tetra XML DefinitionsArgos introduces a proprietary, powerful yet simple XML Protocol Description Language to define all aspects of the protocol analysis: from acquisition, through decoding, presentation and post processing.
The XML Protocol Definitions are described in open or encrypted text files, included hierarchically, starting from the top level definition file.
The analyzer can load any number of top level protocol definition files with their included hierarchy, and use them in parallel for protocol analysis.
The application itself acts also as a development environment for the XML Protocol Definitions, offering an enhanced XML editor with definition browsing, template insertion and context help.
